just wondering what knots you prefer when tying braid to a swivel, lure and line to line.

Using briad I use and improved clinch knot or a palomar knot...I use TUF line for this....for line to line or braid to mono I use a connector knot or albright knot...Bob McNally's Fishermen's Knots & Rigs is a great book for this...

uni to uni works well I use 8 turns on each. When using improved clinch I go around the wrapped portion twice before pulling tight

For years I have used the Palomar knot for tying swivels to Braid. For tying braid to fluorocarbon, I use the Alberto knot which is a stronger variation of the Albright knot. I do not tie braid to braid but I have fishing partners who use the uni to uni for this.
I have had no failures with these knots but found the blood knot useless for tying braid.
Be careful, if you are not used to braided line. If you are bottom fishing and get stuck on the bottom, do NOT try to tug directly on the line. It will cut you. Instead, wrap the line a couple times around your reel before applying pressure to disengage the stuck rig.

I use a top shot of mono on all my braid attached by a uni to uni 7 turns on the mono and 5 on the braid. I do not like to tie braid directly to lures or swivels and having a top shot of mono or fluorocarbon makes it real easy to tie especially when the bite is on. especially with my eyes!!!

I'm with Jaye on this. Palomar for terminal and Alberto for line to line.

I am also a big fan of the topshot when fishing for stripers/blues.

I always use a palomar knot but always double it to connect lines to leaders or to hooks,
when surf fishing I use 15LB. braid on reel but add 15' of 30 LB. braid at end so I can
add as much power to my cast as I like without worring of breaking my line and connect
both lines the same way.
