Been reading some of the reports and things seem a bit slow. Usually I go out Mid to late September with some great action. Things seem a bit slow. I'm booked for the end of October - never been out that late. Anyone gone to the canyons with any success so far this year??
The end of Oct may be the right thing to do this season!!

I heard today the tuna season so far is miserable...but October can be an awesome month and even into November sometimes too!

This is a crazy year. It seems all the fishing has been a few weeks behind all year. There were some YFT in the canyons in July and August and now nothing. There is a good Bluefin bite going on right now about 40 mi. SE of the Manasquan inlet. Guys are getting their one under and one over limit and then playing catch and release. The canyons are giving up some Swords, a few Wahoo and plenty of Mahi's. Even the Longfin bite is non existent. I know of one boat that landed 2 last week and thats it.
I'm Scheduled for this weekend maybe Sunday/ Monday, a makeup from my Sept.5th blowout. It's not looking prettyright now but who knows. October and early November can be great fishing as long as you get the right weather windows.

Sorry Guys I wont be able to let you know about the tuna this weekend. Seems just like Hanna had other plans for me Kyle is planning the same type weekend. :!: I'm going to reschedule for a weekend in October. Either the 18th,19th or the 25th,26th. If anyone has an interest in going let me know, but I have to warn you my luck so far hasn't been to good. I'm telling myself it's a sign of better things to come.
