i live in smithtown and heard that blydenburg is a good bass lake. i fish mostly salt water (in fact the only fresh water fishing i have ever done is in fort pond, montauk), however it is so close to my home, i would like to start fishing some local fresh water more consistently. anybody familiar with the lake and access spots or baot rentals. also, i have seen guys fishing near the landing avenue park near the bridge over the nissequogue. what are they catching there?

grady white, blydenburgh lake is a great bass spot, some truly large fish are in the lake but they almost demand fishing at dawn or dusk. Access the park from brooksite drive to mill road. A trail runs all the way around the lake so you can pick your spots for shore fishing. If you want to rent a row boat you have to enter the park from the vets highway entrance and drive into the boat rental parking lot. The lake also holds other fish, crappies, perch, pickeral, etc. good luck

grady white, I fish blydenburgh alot and the fishing there is awesome. The best thing to use this time of year is either a little rapala crankbait, or little tubes. Also there are some big perch in there that can be caught using these lures.
