Joe, Where is the "Fishing" better? Merrick or Island Park?

I'd say it depends on what you fish for and how you fish. Basicly there isn't a hell of a lot of difference in the bottom or the structure.

Plug Bay Park and the grass at Island Park, plug the "S" turn & rowboat alley & the grass in Merrick. Same
Clam chumming is almost identical.
Bluefish, you can live-line bunker in Merrick for some bruisers at certain times, don't know if that's done in Island Park.
Fluke, not much different.
One thing you do get in the bay from the Big M & Fundy bridges back up into Ned's Creek and the S turn is some real barndoor skates.
Fall live-eel fishing good from Merrick to the inlet and I know it's good from the trestle in Reynold's out to Deb's.
Joe may not agree but my belief and experience is that I've had bigger bass on eels from Jone's Inlet back to Merrick in the fall

I was thinking about "2 legged fish", not the ones in the water...

Then its definitely Merrick. Short run to Short Beach and the bimbos on the bow of the Cigarettes are piled up in Merrick Bay at the golf course.

Sal
Remember there is a 18 yr old minimum age but no bag limit!!!!!
I suggest culling the ones that need a bag anyway!!!!

State raised it to 36C this year, but the season closes when school starts. This species prefers the meat over plastic. The older ones prefer your plastic, gold or platinum work well.

Hadn't thought about plastic, I was referring to the ban on catching silicon.

Word is that the most consistent lure is green. The $$$ ones.

Had some dolls walk in the shop today, redhead from south/east Freeport with her friend from Lake Tahoe Calif on a visit. Perky wee things....and friendly. Hope to get to show them the ropes by the end of the season. No silicon on these 2
