I am planning to take one of the evening 6:30PM Bass trip on a City Island party boat, TFL has 2 that sponser, I've been on both either is good. Will go out mid May to end of June.
My question.
What is the best bet moon phase and tide?
I'm sure there's more to it, but will likely only get out once or twice. These are 2 items I can plan on.
(Maybe the Capt can answer?)

Fish the two days before the moon. The full moon in May is the 20th on a Tuesday, I would fish that Sunday, And Monday,,,joe

Thanks.
I get out when I can but if I can plan when conditions are favorable it helps.
as joe said...2 days before or 2 days or more after...but as I always say..just go when you can go!

Dear Gimmesalt:
Just as Cowkiller and Rich mentioned a few days before the moon and a few days after are usually the ticket. I would recommend using an 24 in. to 34 in. flourcarbon leader. Fresh bunker is the only way to go. Keep you bait fresh and if you can flip you line out it will be more productive. I always fish free spool; so the fish can run without feeling any resistance.
Wind against the tide fish up toward the bow
Wind & tide together the stern corners
Things can change during the trip so be prepared to make position adjustments.
There is usually plenty of room during the week.
If you have any questions just give me a call or I can post specifically to the question(s)? Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Capt. Chris
