Acoustic/Electric Guitar recommendation ??

I recently bought a Martin Lx1-E for my 10 son's first guitar. It seems like a great pick for him but I think it will be more fun if we learn to play together.


I'm a pretty knowledgeable musician (pianist/producer type) but would like to get something around $600 for myself. I wouldn't mind buying something slightly used in order to get a better instrument, don't mind some dings on the finish. Am looking for an Acoustic Electric with a cutaway.

So far I am leaning towards a Breedlove, any other feedback appreciated.

I actually have a 78' Alvarez Dove for sale that I put a pick up in profesisonally done by my luthier...the guitar has a hard shell case..

it is in pristine condition and 100% original except we widened the butt hole:) to put the jack in for the pick up...

selling for $800...exactly what I have into it....she sounds fantastic and unless you are eric clapton cutaways are way overrated...:)
