View Full Version : New Party Boat In Captree...The Bay Princess
As always the dependable Island Princess (631-587-6024 www.islandprincessfishing.com) with Capt. Nick Manzari is agan onboard with The Fishing Line for 2008 AND they have a new second boat the Bay Princess.
The Bay Princess (631-587-6024) is located in the slip adjacent to the Island Princess at Captree's right side of the dock and specializes in private charters up to 80 passengers. Look for this web site to up and running shortly.
...and actually he is the ONLY boat out of 20 that support TFL and what we do...
I am STRONGLY recommending my fan base sail on the Island Princess ONLY when visiting Captree for 2008. If you do sail on another boat please pass the word you would like to see your favorite boat listed on our sites and radio shows.
After all we've done for the Party Boat industry over 15 years it is shameful the rest of these captain don't support us to some degree at least...and they are asking me to put a new reef off Fire Island for them...yea sure I will ASAP...

Hey Rich - does the boat offer a discount for TFL members?
If you Go to their website, there's usually a discount coupon.
Here is a new development to this story. My south shore editor Charles Sciarra was down at Captree this week asking to put up TFL posters and put bumper stickers on the boats for people to take.
Because of my posting our support for the Island Princess…many of the Captree captains told Charlie to get lost and one even said he would wipe his arse with it. That’s just lovely…great attitudes…don't you love it?
These are some of the same captains that never had problems in the past with TFL’s “posting of support” and captains who NEVER mentioned they were uncomfortable with me posting these messages of boats supporting what we do…as I have done every year for 15 years…when they WERE advertising with me and receiving the advantage and benefits of being in this sort of post.
Well captains…you can’t have it both ways. If you’re in…you’re in and if you’re out…what do you expect or want me to do?? List you anyway?
I know things are tough and the reg’s suck and I feel it too as it trickles down into the advertising world. I know captains have to buy bait, pay crews and the loan on the boat and support their families…I have bills to pay as well. But this message of support for the Island Princess on our web sites and the list of boats and tackle shops that support what we do, allowing us to provide two web sites, the phone lines and in some years a TV program is the same message and posting I have done EVERY year!
When you were in it you liked it…now that you’re not…don’t blame me! Don't hate the player, hate the game as they say. Some of you captains used to be in these postings and mailings of support and appreciated it.
It is your right and prerogative to advertise wherever and whenever you want and I never hold that against anyone. If you choose not to advertise with us…don't blame my south shore reporter! You got a problem with this? Pick up the phone and call me!! I made the post not Charlie!
AND if you have a problem with the posting call me to talk about it or better yet spend a few bucks and get involved…It only costs the equivalent of one half day fare ($40) per week to be on our sites, the phone lines and radio shows…the whole darn ball of wax for ONLY $40! If so you too would have been in this Posting of Support! This is a two way street and one hand washes the other.
It is obvious either the captains themselves visit our site or their supporters are reading this and giving the news second hand to the captains. Either way if you’re all reading it…why not be part of it?
I don’t want to list all we have done for the port of Captree and the party boat industry over the years from filming numerous TV shows each season on party boats, to building one of the largest artificial reefs on the South Shore to bringing Senator Schumer into the Fluke Fiasco or setting up press conferences in Captree to vent…
no I don’t want to do that because it would be self promoting….but people have short memories don't they??

The answer is, vote with the dollar. Princess boats do every bit as well and work every bit as hard as any other in Captree
This E Mail was sent to me Friday (5/2) morning by Don Wanser...formerly of long Island, a big fan of the Captree boats and who now lives in FL.
Hi Rich,
Greetings from Tamarac, Florida. I really don't miss Long Island, but I REALLY miss fishing on the Captree party boats. You are absolutely doing the right thing by promoting Captain Nick and the I.P. I fished on the I.P. many many times and I can't ever remember having an unpleasant trip. The Manzari's are a great family. I'm sure their tradition of excellence will continue for many years to come.
Sincerely yours,
Don Wansor
