wood lathes

im looking to get into the hobby of making plugs n lures, and was looking for some advice for wood lathes ie.size brand cost etc. anybody out there have wood lathes that u would recomend a beginner like me ? :)

I made a few poppers and plugs on an old Craftsman lathe a few years ago. Works great and so do the poppers. You can pick up 1 1/2"X 1 1/2" cedar used for deck fencing at any lumber yard. Good luck.

thanks i found some small bench lathes but they range from 150 to 500 bucks n didnt know what the difference was i'll have to chech out sears on line thanks:)
