Trout Fishing Anyone ?

Anyone going out opening day? I plan on doing some stream hoping in Westchester & Putnam. Word from D.E.C. the usual spots are stocked In these counties. Did real good last year on the East Branch Of the Croton above Sodom. Had some beautiful holdover Brookies there. Hope we don't get to much rain before the opener.

i am not a trout fisherman but through my reports that i do it seems that mepps spinners are the way to go now.if you go to www.thefishingline.com and look at the long island freshwater reports i think it might help.or u can email me at tubeking75@aol.com.good fishing dennis

I have used Mepps, Roostertail, PanterMartin, Bluefox, and other spinners with good results.Only problem is that they attract alot of small fish. Since i like a Trout Dinner once in awhile i mainly target larger holdovers. My favorite bait for them are minnows, and even small killies that i trap. The larger baits discourage the smaller stockies , but on the other hand have produced some good size trout for me.
