TRENTON * On Thursday, April 10, at 10 a.m., Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Lisa P. Jackson will announce the state Forest Fire Service's new public awareness initiative that will better protect properties from wildfires.
The announcement will take place during a Wildfire Awareness Week event at the Ocean Acres Elementary School and Community Center in Stafford Township, Ocean County. Forest Fire Service staff, along with Smokey Bear, will be on hand to educate children about fire prevention, fire ecology and protecting their homes from wildfires.

Directions from the Garden State Parkway: Take Exit 63, follow Route 72 west. Turn right on Nautilus Drive. Proceed 1.5 miles to school on right. Go to community center.
Directions from Routes 70 and 72: From the Four-Mile Circle where Routes 70 and 72 meet, take Route 72 east approximately 20 miles. Turn left on Nautilus Drive, just past Southern Ocean County Hospital. Follow directions above.
