These bastards have been raising my rates for too long including another $3 this month! I have switched to Excel. My friend told me about them and I only pay $49.95 plus an estimated $7 in taxes for a total bil of all local, regional and long distance calls for only $57

I can call anywhere in the US and Canada all day and leave the phone off the hook for the same amount! Verizon has a similar plan but after taxes and such it was closer to $80!!:D

If anyone is interested I will give you my friends contact number and he can set the same thing up for you. You get to keep your same phone number too!

As far as Verizon, last fall Lisa & I got a new cell phone plan from them that's supposed to give 400 minutes shared between our two phones.

Not one month since then have they gotten the billing right!!!!!!! I sent a letter to the CEO of Verizon. Maybe that will get some attention.

Rich,
I hope you never have to make a service call. Verizon owns all of the hardware in the area and I will assume when your service goes down and it will you will have to call Excel which in turn calls Verizon to come out and make the repair. So who do you think Verizon is going to service first?? Excel or their own customers. I just changed to the Verizon Freedom plan from the old time unlimited local plan and I will save about $30 a month. I would say the few extra bucks a month is worth staying w/ Verizon. Just my own opinion. See you out on the water.

I looked into it and my friends that have Excel have never had a service problem, which is more than I can say for Verizon.

Rich,
Being in the computer/telecom indusrty I have had some bad experiences where neither Verizon or the 3rd party provider would take responsibility for the problem. Each one would say it was the others equipment at fault. Either way good luck with Excel I would like to know how the service is a few months from now. Anyway its always good to save a few dollars. See ya.

Excel is the world's largest privately held communications company...I should be in pretty good hands. MY friend has been trying to get me to switch for ayear now and he has had flawless service

I've never had a problem with Verizon, Bell Atlantic, Nynex, NY Tel...... They own everything from the side of the house to the switch office and they service it. If there is a problem Verizon will still have to fix it, Excel doesn't have the resources or the manpower to deal with it. They buy Telco service and resell it, maybe they'll stay in businness long enough for you to save some money.

They have been in business for several years and are not going anywhere

Is that a business line or residential or do you use it for both. They like to sock it to business' because they can declare it. Wow! 7 years they've been in business, that's a long time.
