The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show Lets You “Try Before You Buy” at The Dick’s Sporting Goods Casting Stream

HARRISBURG – The 2008 Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show (Feb. 2-10) offers the widest selection of fishing-related products and expert advice in North America. And now* thanks to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Casting Pond* it provides a place to actually test fishing equipment before you buy.

“Buying a rod and reel is a very personal thing for anglers. And the choices at the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show are staggering. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Casting Pond allows anglers to “test drive” a rod and reel before they buy it. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Casting Pond is located in the newly expanded Fishing Hall.

The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show is THE place to be for the latest in hunting and fishing equipment. The 2008 Show will bring more factory and pro-staff representatives* and hunting and fishing equipment vendors to the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg than ever before.

With more than 1*200 hunting and fishing equipment vendors and factory and pro-staff reps on hand* attendees can be assured that if it’s hunting or fishing related* they’ll find it at The Show. Find Your Hunt of A Lifetime at The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show

HARRISBURG--You’ve saved your money for a dream hunting trip and now it’s time to make the big decision to book. Whether it’s elk hunting in the Rockies* chasing moose in Canada* or big game in Africa* you have one shot at booking the perfect hunt and* being the hunter you are* you want to make that shot count.

Information is the key* and there is no better place to hunt down all the information you need to book your dream trip than at the 2008 Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show® presented by Chevrolet* February 2-10* at the State Farm Show Complex* Harrisburg* PA. The Show features more than 500 outfitters from all over North America and the world. Whatever you’re looking for in a hunt* you’ll find it at the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show. The more information you can gather* the better your chances of booking a hunt that meets your expectations. The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show is like “Hunting Central” providing the opportunity to ask a lot of outfitters a lot of questions about how their hunts* person–to-person* in one day* in one place.

It’s also important to get references* not only from people who have had successful hunts* but also from people who booked hunts that were not. The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show is an excellent place to network with other hunters and find out about their hunting trip experiences.

If you need or want expert assistance and advice through every phase of the selection* booking* and preparation process* a booking agent is a good way to go* and you’ll find dozens of them at the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show.

A booking agent works much like a travel agent. Just as a good travel agent uses their knowledge and personal experience to help put together the best vacation for your money and book the flights* cruises* and hotel rooms* a booking agent does much the same for hunting trips. Just like a travel agent* the booking agent provides his or her services at no cost to the person booking the trip. And* the important part is* the booking agent is working in the best interests of you--the person booking the hunt.

A good booking agent will help their clients through the entire process* from what to expect* what to take with them* about fees and licenses* and if they need passports or vaccinations. And* the benefits of using a booking agent go way beyond just pushing paper. A booking agent provides valuable* first-hand knowledge about a variety of outfitters.

A good booking agent won’t book for any outfitter* whether it’s in North America* Africa* Mongolia or Russia* unless they have been to their property* visited their camp* seen what type of equipment they have* talked with their personnel* and evaluated the game population.

There are also “fringe benefits” to using a booking agent. Many times* people who use a booking agent will get the best guides for a particular hunt because the booking agent may send 20 or 30 people to that outfitter in a year and they want the booking agent to keep sending them business.

Sometimes* in spite of everything you plan* a hunt can go wrong. Here again* a good booking agent can prove his worth. When a hunt goes sour* an outfitter may do more for a booking agent who sends him 30 percent of his business than a one-time hunter who booked independently.

The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show is the largest consumer event of its kind in North America. Attracting outdoor sports enthusiasts from Pennsylvania* Maryland* Virginia* West Virginia* Delaware* New Jersey* New York and Washington DC to view hunting and fishing products* plan outdoor sport and camping vacations* shop for fishing boats* RVs* SUVs* motorcycles and ATVs* and participate in a wide range of sport-related contests and family entertainment offerings.
