Mackeral report

I have recieved some mixed reports of a few Macks* popping up out on the east side of the Mud Hole. Reports are sporatic and the reported schools are not big. Here today gone tommorrow.

The big commercial gang has really put a banging on the Macks way down south as they work there way North. The water is still pretty warm in comaprison to the last two years so a run is still not out of the question.

Still not optomistic about a good Mack run this winter* hope I am wrong.

The Golden Eagle is still on the rail in the shed getting some new paint* & annual TLC. Coast Guard gave us their blessing on our inspection for another two years. We will be wrapping up at the yard late next week* and then back to Belmar. We will see what we will do for the rest of the winter in a few weeks.

Well the MAcks are around and a few boats did well a few days ago. The reports from the NJ boats today and yesterday were not great. It was a bit rough today and the Macks were not as cooperative as a few days ago. Lets see what happens in a day or so.
Perhaps a few other boats did better???

As of 01/06 Macks are around but fishing for them has been a hot and cold affair.
reports have the Macks on the East Side of the Hole in 150 - 200ft!
Wow* a bit to deep to work them right. There are fish around but they seem to be keeping the fleet guessing with good fishing followed by tough fishing.
Thats the Good* bad and ugly of the winter Mack Attack.
