I'm going to be in Miami in early February and I'm thinking about going down to the Keys for a day or two of fishing. Can anyone recommend an open boat* type of fish* or other charter that is not very expensive? Maybe even a boat out of Miami??? My ideal day out would be fishing for sail* or something large offshore.

I'll post a link a little later from work but i know of a killer trip for swords on an 85' drift boat that runs $100 or so.
They also run daytime drift and sportfishing boats as well.
send Tbiggs and myself a PM on the name of the boast please

Bring a light action rod down there with you and fish the bridges and passes. You could catch ladyfish* spanish mackeral* jacks* snook* redfish* sea trout* and small tarpon. Look to fish off the beach near inlets. I usually use small tins and bomber plugs* but bass assasins are good too.
The fishing is good now but will slow down drastically sometime around mid-January.
Be careful with the guides down there - I've been ripped off a couple of times over the years. You have to let them know that you're serious fisherman or they'll have you fishing for small mangrove snappers and take you home early.
I usually fish the Naples area (west of Miami on the west coast) so if you need any info about that area* I can let you know.
