Fall get Together Wednesday Dec 5 @ 8 p.m. [Archive]

The date for our first fall get together is set...

Wednesday evening December 5th anytime after 8:30 p.m. or so. The band starts at 9 p.m.

This date gives everyone nearly 3 weeks to make plans for babysitters* clear schedules etc etc etc...

The Place: Jessie Roadhouse in Merrick...Jessie’s Roadhouse is 3 lights east of the Meadowbrook Parkway on Merrick Road exit 9E in Merrick.

It is across the street from the McDonald's...Let's start a head count..

May I ask...wher are the 58 people I took fishng this fall?? Only four of you want to come to our get together??

For the time being I am suspending ALL free trips until I see this list get to at least 20 by the end of this week...

I really hate to be such a pesimist but it is looking mroe and more like we had hangeron's for nothing more than the free trip...t

I guess I'll use all the Okuma hats and T shirts I have here and all the Tide Rigs that were so generously donated for our trips and use them at the get togeter instead...looks like all four of you will be making out pretty good that night...

This is why a post count will have to be in place for future trips..

Jessie's has offered us FREE wings all night for anyone associated with our get together...

these are some of the best wings on the planet..three diffrent BBQ flavors plus the regular ones you're used to seeing in other places.

Of course* I will be there. Easy drive too. I have a buddy that lives right there* so I'm familiar with it.

We should have plenty to discuss - the fall run should be at its peak by then.

It would be nice if more people showed support for this function. Everyone should buy Rich an end-of-year beer - he provides us with great fishing reports through his phone hotline and website - it is not easy to update these reports as frequently as he does - calling all over the island* accumulating information* etc.

He also brings awareness to some critical environmental and fisheries issues through his radio show.

Also* he has gone above and beyond with these free fishing trips.

Again* anyone who takes advantage of his fishing reports should go to this function* hang-out* and buy Rich a drink for a job well done. He deserves it!

But I am not adding my name to the list as with 3 kids and all in at least 2 sports I can't plan more than a day in addvance for anything.
That's why I have not been able to fish much this year.

But I will go if I can* would be glad to buy RJ a beer and try those wings and talk with everyone about the fall fishing season!:beer:

Wish I could come* but I will be away on buss. Do you need a door prize or two? Perhaps a free trip or two for the 08 season on the Golden Eagle? Let me know and I will mail a few trips to give away at the get together.

My boats in Wantagh but will travel to support sponsors. I organize a few small running events and clubs and know how important it is to make sure the sponsors are being rightfully recognized and properly rewarded.

Im not making it* I just came home from work(4am start)* im filthy and tired* i need a shower and a bed. I know Im missing a great night but back to work at 4 am.

This was actually the second night of the holiday..that is why I scheduled it for the Wednesday...

You are correct* I misread the calendar when I originally replied. Thanks for taking the holiday into account when scheduling. As it turns out* with two small children in the house we have a celebration all 8 nights. Hope it was a success last night and hope to make the spring get together!

sorry i didnt make it rj i had an unexpected visitor. my uncle from indiana supprised us for the holidays ( hadnt seen him in couple yrs) hope you understand as for the reel let me know when a good time is to meet u somewhere out by you i dont mind taking the ride. again sorry i didnt make it hope all was well an hope you set up another one soon .:beer:
