Hey everyone* I am new to the forum and all. I just wanted to tell you that I went blackfishing off of the Ocean Eagle in sheepshead bay yesterday and did pretty well for an amateur. I went home with six keeper blacks. Also the mates are really cool about showing you techniques and are all around good guys. I am a bit of a regular on that boat but I usually hit the summer fishing like sea bass and porgy...I also went out with them a few times for ling and I always do well on those trips. ANother plus on the boat is the galley...thay are always cooking up something hot and delicious. I really reccomend this boat if you are ever in Brooklyn and have time to go out!!

Amen on that* for blackfishing and seabass this is the boat to go. I have also have done well with fluke/seabass combo trip with Capt Glen in the summer. I'm planning to go on OE by next week and will post my report. The bite is getting better as the water cool off but is only going to get better* until the end of December.

Hi dfc* the weekends gets a little crowded for me and I like a little elbow room* but with this boat everybody catches. Enjoy blackfishing on sunday and post that awesome report.
Sorry about Jay* I didnt see your post until today. The weather has been a little issue for me this week. Either wind or rain. Let me know if you planning on going any days next week during the weekday.

I have made the trip from NNJ to SHB to fish on the OE a few times. The Capt. and Crew are top notch. There is definately no shortage of entertainment on that boat.
I remember one trip about 45 minutes out the seas got a little rough the Capt. turned around gave everyone their money back and a card for $5 off on the next trip. Now that is a "CLASS ACT"

Friday sound great* if a little wind* no problem* these fish need a little chop in the water to make them super active and it make it more easy to anchor up. Come on members* lets have a blackfish banner day or a few laugh.

This week I am going thru withdrawal symptoms for not being in the woods for the first time in 25 years so you must forgive me. I plan to fish Monday on Capt. Joseph* Friday on the OE and haven't quite decided about Wednesday. Weather permitting I may do the Osprey.

Going off the OE tomorrow....I figure the true fisherman will go and all the landlubbers will stay home. I don't expect the boat to be too full.

You be surprise but you will see a full house and I not talking about poker. Its prime blackfish season right now and a light crowd might not happen* not on this boat. Dfc* if you know about this boat* which you have been on before* dont go to the stern of the boat...you do better in other spots. Lets us know how you make out.

4. bottom fish like sea bass* tog and porgies hate the SE or southerly roll of an approaching storm
Just looked at the weather in preparation for my week of togging only to discover that we can expect a southerly roll. I may have to rethink my plans. What a bummer!!!!

I was on the Capt. Joseph. Fishing was spotty and managed to keep three decent fish. The bite was just off today. I also heard from one of the fishermen that it was a little too early for the OE and fishing there was also spotty. I am reconsidering and make do a charter on Friday.
