WE NEED YOU NOW TO HELP US!
The NY State Conservation Council desperately needs your help NOW from June 16th through Thursday June 21st to contact this list of NYS Assemblypersons who are members of the Assembly Environmental Conservation Committee. It is our last chance to get bill A733 by DelMonte out of committee. This bill will allow youths 14 and 15 years old* holding junior hunting licenses to be able to hunt big game with a supervisor* license holding mentor* using one firearm between them. We have a chance after seven years to make a final push and get this passed.
Your job is to contact as many of the following committee members as you can by telephone or email within the time period (June 16-21) and ask them to vote to pass this out of committee. There are two strategies that you can use: 1. It's Fathers Day time* and I want you to pass this bill out of committee because I want to be able to mentor my son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter so that we can enjoy this outdoor recreation as a family. Or 2. I am not in your district but my Assembly Representative has voted for a lot of bills that benefit the New York City area and this is a good bill for the upstate area and our cultural heritage. It also will not affect your youth in the city as they dont hold junior hunting licenses and would not be qualified for the mentor program.
Here are the Members of the Assembly EnCon Committee that you need to contact. You also might get your other family members or friends to do the same. Only a big push will get this done* and the time window is limited so please start as soon as possible. Call or email or do both now. This is our last Big Push and Drive. We are counting on you. Thank you for helping.
