I believe the permit that was free will now be at a cost of $25 due to the Nassau County deficit and the newly elected officials. I will find out next week when I go there myself to find out.

Stan, I think you are talking about the Nassau Beach permit. The Town of Oyster Bay permit is still free, I picked mine up on Thursday.

Steve thanks for the info. I thought Souzzi was going to charge for this permit also. I used to get the Nassau Beach permit also but for $25 they can keep it.

TOBAY is the acronym for the Town of Oyster Bay, in Nassau County, not Suffolk. Beach wise, its the stretch between Jones Beach Field Six (actually 3 miles east of there, just past where the old Field Nine washed into the oceanand due south of Massapequa, and West Gilgo. West Gilgo, which is in the Town of Babylon and due south of Amityville. can be recognized by the private homes off the Amity Cut. Thus, West Gilgo lies on the east border of TOBAY.

Surfsanity, The TOBAY permit being discussed here covers Tobay Beach on the South Shore. It also covers some beaches in the Oyster Bay / Bayville area also but includes Tobay Beach on the South Shore between Jones Beach Field six and Gilgo.

Stan, Souzzi has nothing to do with Tobay, it's not a county beach, it's a town (of Oyster bay) beach. And I agree, I've gotten the Nassau beach permit for a few years now, I'll probably pass now that it's $25.
