Tom,
What kind of guides do you have on your GSB1321M? The regular Fuji (BSVLG) or the hi-frames and if you had to do it all over again, what would you choose? Inquiring minds want to know.

I use BSVLG's on all the rods I build.. above 8 ft that is... you dont get much advantage (casting wise) with the high frame and they are less durable than the BSVLG's and more expensive.

I went with the high frame guides.
I like them better than your standards, as they help prevent line slap. In fact, that's why Fuji put out the high-frames in 1968. Too many surf fishermen were complaining about the line coming off the reel in large loops and flogging the rod as the lures were cast.
As times have changed, though, so have fishermen's perception of great guides. Not too long ago teh concept guide system hit the rod building scene. Not only does this system (using rings that are a lot smaller than the big old wire guides once preferred) help prevent line slap, but it also helps straighten out the line more rapidly so that there isn't that much air resistance against all those loops of line as they come of the spool when casting.
