bunker problems

Is there anyone out there having a problem finding fresh bunker these days?? I had a friend to had to travel all the way to Port Washington to get it. Is there any other bait you can use on the beaches besides bunker to catch the big one. I haven't had too much luck catching shad either these days.

There was a guy at Jones Beach field 6 on both Sunday and yesterday killing the aligator blues with chunks that he soaked in som wierd mixture.Any ideas?????

The bunker schools are way thin by now. The only two shops with consistant fresh is on the western north shore and western South Shore. I would still call them first. As a side note, RIGGED EELS ARE WORKING VERY WELL.

Care on sharing any info on where the rigged eels have been working? Down wher i am the water is always either weedy or brown:(
