Try the celtic quest out of Mt Sinai or the osprey out of Port Jeff and last but not least, the james Joseph out of Huntington-you may need reservations-call first
You don't need reservations on any of these boats, but expect BIG crowds on ther James Joseph on weekends and holidays. He CATCHES FISH!!

tight lines
My cameraman was on the *** last weeknd. One angler had a heart attack and they had to go to CT to drop him off at an ambulance... the boat left 10 minutes early and left my camerman's friend in the deli and sailed without him...and when anchoring the boat the anchor line ran over a private boat and they had to drop the entire anchor and 100's of yards of line before someone got seriously hurt and then go back to regroup and get the anchor back AND there was hardly any fish caught.
Say what you want about the capt. james, he catches fish!!! If you mind your own busines sand don't get involved with the play that goes on you can blend into the woodwork, catch tons of fish and no one wil ever know you are there.
I would think twice before getting on the **** again and no one got a discount or their oney back for the horrible trip!

RJ- You bring up an interesting situation. Is it better to leave the dock 10 Min. early or to sit at the dock and sail 15 Min. late. This on a split day trip. It really isn't important as to which boat is guilty of doing that, but it's done for a multitude of reasons. I'm not condemning or defending any particular boat, but it happens.

Actually you do need reservations for the Celtic Quest

When someone tells the captain his friend is in the deli and the boat isn't supposed to to sail to 7 a.m. and the captain leaves 10 minutes early anyway knowing there is someone who traveld to fish on the boat with his friends..that is just plaing inexcusable:!:

RJ- You're right, but the other side of the coin is a boat full of anglers, sitting at the dock for 15 min. beyond the sailing time waiting for someone to show up or a Capt. looking to scrounge some last minute arrivals. There's no excuse for either situation, but it happens when you're dealing with party boats.:!: :!:
There is NO other side to the coin here!
The person in the deli was NOT late getting out of the deli! He was standing at the dock watching the boat pull away! In other words he made it on time and was a minute or two early and his stuff was on the boat!!
Many captains and most good businessmen captains stay a few minutes later if they KNOW someone is in the parking lot or deli and are supposed to be sailing with them...1/2 day trip or not!
This whole thing falls on the shoulders of the capt. on the ***...there is no other way to look at it or defend his actions.
I am still upset about this and will be calling the captain myself and he should have offered a refund to the poassengers that day...either partial or full.

Id like to hear the captains version of this fishing night mare!
I have total faith in my camerman who was on the trip and it was his friend they left without. I have known this fellow for seven years and have total faith in his version as the truth. I am going to consider this thread closed from this point forward.
