Booking charter trips?

Any one start booking trips already? I started to ask my friends what trips they want to go on, and were shocked when I told them I will be booking soon. But by doing it very early you can get the dates you want. Does anyone do this, and do you get strange looks or the question "Why so early?"

Most of them found it strange I was asking about dates in June, Sept. & Oct. already.

Also a big responce is "I don't know what I'll be doing by then on that date"
