Trolled outside (east and west) of FI Inlet last Sunday (10/27). A slow day although we did manage some blues including a 19lb slob and 2 short bass. We used large bunker spoons(white, chrome and green) small Crippled alewives (white and green) umbrella rigs of all colors and even mixed color combinations, big swimming plugs and even resorted to huge single tubes (black and burgundy).

Heard a couple of VHF reports where one angler had some success with a chartreuse parachute with red rind and another who had a parachute on a dropper tied ahead of a large white bunker spoon.

I was always under the impression that parachutes worked better in rocky rips like those at Montauk or in the Race. Are they effective in open sand bottom areas? If so, how are they "jigged"? I heard of the parachute/bunker spoon combo but never tried it. How is it tied? How is it fished? Thanks for any replies!

Parachutes work any where anytime. I have caught fish inthe middle fo Jones INlet when everyone was drifting eels! Thye are great and work wonders and give you something to do while trolling instead of pondering the situation aimlessly trolling down the beach

I thought that itwas a "Montauk method". Will try it next time out.

How do you usually jig parachutes? What type of rod, line, terminal setup? Best color/rind combination? Do you jig with the rod or do use the glove method?

I did a TV show on this a year or two back. You get everything you asked answered. If you want to purchase the tape for $20 (included S&H & tx.) let me know.
