Surf Fishing

Hi Rich-
I usually go surf fishing at the North Channel Bridge
Jamaica bay. Is there a difference wether you scale a bunker
or not? Does it make it easier for the striper or the blue to hook
on if its scaled or just as is. I will be fishing there tonight. Can you give me a tip on the best way to rig for stripers and blues?

Don't scale the Bunker. Believe it or not the scales hold bunker oil to the chunk and they provide for more dexterity in the skin (preventing the hook from ripping out too easily).
